Frequently Asked Questions 


1. How do I buy a gift voucher?

Either through our secure website, alternatively you can call 0191 251 4443 during the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (or 9am till 1pm Saturdays) and the team will be pleased to help you.


2. How soon after purchase will I receive the gift voucher pack in the post? (if selected)

We process the gift pack on the same day of your order (if we receive your order before 4pm) and it will be sent out in a plain white envelope, stamped First Class with no reference to us on the envelope.


3. How long is the voucher valid for?

Driving Sensation vouchers are valid for ten months from date of purchase unless stated otherwise.


4. Can I extend my voucher?

Yes, you can extend the voucher for an extra 3 months for £30.00 as long as you contact us within the validity period of the gift voucher, otherwise your voucher will be deemed as expired on the date stated on the voucher. We cannot extend or book a drive once the expiry date has passed.


5. Can I have a refund?

Driving Sensation is happy to offer a refund within 14 days of purchase subject to an administration charge of £30 on return of the voucher purchased. 


6. I have a gift pack and I want to book my driving experience, what do I do? 

Telephone our booking line on the telephone number printed on the Gift Voucher and the team will be happy to help you. Once you have booked we will send email confirmation with all the details you need to know.


7. Are there any restrictions?

We recommend a maximum height of 6’5” and a maximum weight of 19.5 stones.

Juniors should be aged between 11-17 yrs old and a minimum of 4ft 10ins tall.


8. What if I lose my gift voucher?

We can replace a voucher for a £30 administration fee. The gift voucher is required on the day of your experience in exchange for your drive.


9. Can spectators come along to watch?

Absolutely, we think that more people at the track side will increase the fun of the driving experience.


10. Do I need a driving licence?

Yes, to take part on the adult drives you must hold a full licence which allows you to drive on UK roads.  (** Juniors drivers, 1st drive and passenger laps do not require a driving licence)


11. Will I actually get to drive?

Yes, if you purchase a driving experience you will drive the car you have chosen.

12. How long will the experience last?

As a rough guide for a 1-2 car experience we would suggest 1.5 hours to complete the driving experience. Larger experiences could take up to 4 hours to complete.

The time at the venue includes registration, a briefing, driving time and collection of a certificate.


13. What if the weather is bad?

Driving experiences will still go ahead in the rain. If it is foggy, icy or the track becomes flooded there may be a delay whilst conditions improve. We will always try our best to run the driving experience on the date booked, but in the unlikely event that we have to cancel, we will re book the experience to another date.


 14. How much notice is required for booking a date?

Advance booking is required. We usually need at least 6 weeks notice, more in peak times.


15. Are dogs allowed at the venue?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at the track except for guide dogs.
